We flew Air Paradise last August and we were allowed a generous excess allowance with no problems, but we were asked to pack the donation items separately. Just in case it was needed, I also carried a copy of the email from our donation recipient in Bali.
When you think about it, this would be an easy way for unscrupulous people to beat the system, but this can end up denying the poor Balinese people badly needed necessities. It's a bit like stealing charity money, but that happens too, doesn't it?
