We stayed at the Besakiah 3 years ago and in January just gone we did a walk up the beach path to the Besakiah to show our boys where we stayed.
I recognised the lady that had massaged me last time. So yes she is still there. Not sure about the painting guy but someone is still selling paintings there.
It was so quiet along the beach path we could have fired a gun and not got anyone.
All the same people are there just more desparate than normal.
