It is the equivilant of New Years, however, they celebrate it quite differently from us in Aus! From the eve to the night after, we should respectfully keep noise to a minimum and remain in our accomodation for the day. The lights will be dimmed, the shops closed and little activity anywhere so as not to attract the evil spirits. On the final day there will be processions and burning of Ogi-Ogi ( large monster creations) a sight worth seeing. Use this day as some quiet time and enjoy the culture that comes with the experience. For more info do a search on this site.
