For the past 10 years we used Bali as a stopover on our way to Lombok.
The main tourist area Senggigi is on the west coast facing Bali with several large beachfront resorts. From Senggigi you can day trip to Gilies, south to Kuta for some serious surfing, Treking, hot springs, pottery.
We are also flying out on the 19 March, Melbourne-Bali, Kuta (4nights), Padang Bai(2nights)Senggigi(2.5 weeks) Kuta Bali(3 nights) then home.
