Not sure exactly how the sling shot works but a Balinese man explained to me what happened and it sounded more like a bungy but they may both work in the same manner? Apparently your weight is taken and the rope adjusted on the sling shot according to your weight. Two mates from Sydney went on and the weight wasn't added up correctly. I've never even seen what the sling shot looks like but apparently it had something to do with incorrect weight - just a tragic mistake.
