Have stayed at Istana Rama quite a few times over the years. Cottages are very nice. Staff are friendly. Normally a nice quiet hotel...not as big as Sahid.
When we were there last May, we were told of planned rennovations in 2005, So I would try to find out if that is happening...I think hammering and building may detract a little from the ambience!
