We went again to Bali for the 3rd time in September last year and we have booked to go again this September. I asked our Doctor and she said that we did not need to have any injections unless we were planning on going into the jungle type areas for an extended period. We were staying in Kuta and had a couple of day trips to Ubud, Mas, Celuk etc.
I would suggest that your tenanus is up to date just because you might step on something but other than that, I wouldn't worry to much. Do take some Imodeum and some Stemitol for gastro and nausea, just in case. I got a bit of gastro the 4th day but it turned out to be that gastro vomiting wog that was going around Adelaide in September October last year. It slowed me down a bit but once the Imodeum kicked in, I didn't miss out on any trips or swims or shopping.
As far as the loos go, when we went the last time they were pretty primative but last year they had improved greatly. I did take a packet of Pine O Clean wipes to use in case we found some that looked a bit unclean but that only happened once.
You will have a wonderful time. There are some great photos that people on this forum have taken and put on www.Webshots.com. You just need to type in things like "Kuta" and you will get a lot of them to look at.
Hope you have a great holiday.
Regards
Maria
