you will find you establish some friendships with certain people
in the hotel,in some shops. I always travel with an aussie flag - only the $6 ones and its almost a fight over who gets it .Last time my room cleaner won the lottery for it and I have promissed the tailor I will send him one. Of course a tip is always appreciated cause they can buy what they most need but the teenagers love aussie trade/brand things . i took a whole lot of telstra merchansise last time (won it all at triva games ) I has t-shirts,hats, back packs etc so you might see some of them around Legian & Kuta . I took over 30 kgs of clothes for charity last trip but they were all in good condition - I washed them & conditioned them so they smelt beautiful and I took more time ironing them too . Buda our driver said that he would rather buy a good t- shirt so it lasted so he would save up. I also take old thin beach towels and leave them there - they are handy as sometimes its hard to get towels for the pool.
