Hi guys, the Padma will not disappoint. The deluxe chalet rooms are lovely, have not stayed in the superior rooms before. The deluxe chalet rooms have king sized beds that are comfy, the airconditioning works very well (which is what you definitely want after a full day out in the hot & humid weather) & they supply you with 2 bottles each day of complimentary bottled water.
We pulled out all the contents in the fridge & restocked with our own stuff (chocs, drinks, etc)(just let the room cleaner know that's what you've done so they don't put it all back in again) that we bought at Lojis supermarket just around the corner on Jalan Padma Utara. They have prices on everything so you can check you don't get ripped off (as we did at the supermarket on Jalan Padma down the road from the hotel).
Don't be alarmed with the drains in the shower/bath - the water fills up around your ankles while having a shower. It's just the normal thing with the drains in the hotel (my friend was alarmed & complained to hotel staff to fix) - it's like that in every room.
Also, don't be alarmed when you see the guy walking around the resort with the fogging machine each morning & night - just close your door & don't breathe it in as it doesn't smell real nice. They spray for mosquitoes & other nasty bugs. Just keep your Bushmans spray handy for when you're elsewhere as it does the trick cause it's got a high % of DEET compared with Rid or the others.
Enjoy a drink at the Padma Sunset bar on the beach front (in the left hand corner of the resort) & have a laugh at the singers/musician giving it their all.
Swim up to the pool bar & have an Arak Attack - a must for lazing in the pool. (God I miss that pool!).
Like I said in a previous post - the Japanese buffet at the Padma is a must, the buffet breakfasts each morning were fantastic & the Bali coffee I couldn't get enough of. The resort grounds are lush & glorious - you'll never want to leave.
For a wonderful treat take yourself to Bodyworks 2 in Petitenget/Seminyak for a 2 hr exfoliation massage (heavenly & only ~ AUD$32) & have a sunset dinner at La Lucciola in Seminyak. The Aussie chef Simon is lovely & the service & food are exceptional.
Feel free to ask me any other questions as I could talk about Bali all night - I'm missing the place already & I've only been back 1 week!
