It can be funny after a few drinks. Personally I have enough trouble sober. LOL. There are many variations. With the Indonesians it also depends where they come from. Same as different parts of any country I guess. A friend of mine (an Aussie) speaks Indonesian and had much practice in Bali. When she went to Jakarta the said "Oh you speak with a Balinese accent".
The Balinese place the accent slightly differently to how I was taught. They tend to accept the variations and thank you for trying.
Even when I meant to say "Anda ingat saya" (do you remember me) and mistakenly said "Anda ingin saya" (do you desire me) they said nothing but I noticed the funny look on someones face and asked. How embarassing. LOL
