Last year when we went over we had a 1 lt of Baileys and 2 lt of Johnny walker red. This was also the first time that we had not used a bag boy. We were taken to the little room and asked to hand over the johnny walker. We told them that they could take the baileys which would then mean that we were back to the limit.
They were not interested in that and only wanted the johnny walker, they wanted us to pay a 400% mark up on the Johnny walker which again we refused to do. Understanding what they want at that point I advised them again to have the baileys again they refused so I asked them where the sink was so that I could tip out the johnny walker my self. They then realised that we were also serious about what they were trying to do. They then asked us for $50.00 AUS which I did not have and told them I had $20.00 AUS which they then agreed to take. All of this only took 5-10 minutes. They were fine and happy with the result and shook our hands as we left. This year however we will use a bag boy as it seems that when you use one they are happy to see someone getting some money which they then also get a take off.
We fly today and I will be using a bag boy even though we only have one bag.
