We had a week there in September. We had the deluxe rooms facing north on the 2nd floor and we thought it was really good value for the price. the room was quite large and had recently been refurbished and a new airconditioner installed. We had a large balcony that was well shaded in the afternoons. The only complaint we had was with the peculiar smell from the bathroom, From recent reports it seems that the bathroom smell seems to be very common in a lot of rooms of this hotel. The included breakfast was very good. The pool area is well presented and the location of the hotel is the best.however there were a few people we spoke to around the pool last year that said they would not stay there again. I think because of the position of their rooms, then again you can't please everyone. Most of the guests seemed quite happy with the place even tho a few had changed rooms once or twice before being satisfied and I have paid a lot more money to stay at hotels of of a similar or inferior standard that the Bali Garden.
But funny you should mention it , but we are also looking at staying at either the Bali Rani or the Ramayana this year. At the moment my money is on the Rani (from reading archive reports) and the fact it is very close to the Bali Garden which we thought was in a fab location.
