Good that they've been sacked, but I wonder if they [or at least selected people] will be re-engaged once the furor has died down. And compare this to CBS being fined US$550,000 over the brief exposure of part of Janet Jackson's breast during the Super Bowl half-time performance. This was shown on Australian early evening TV news, so evidently wasn't officially considered offensive here, but surely the tsunami song would have offended everyone, everywhere.
And what is the US Federal Communications Commission doing about it? Probably nothing, because the Religious Right, which seems to be running the US these days, is offended by even partial nudity, but doesn't get its knickers in a twist over offensive rubbish like this.
