My wife & i stayed at the tegal sari in the wooden room in August. They had a large banana tree blocking some of the veiw over the rice fields from our room.I told them that the banana tree was blocking a beautiful view, so they gave it a good trim.We also travelled from there to Nusa Lembongan. The reason that there was a lot of rubbish on the beaches is because you went in the wet season when the winds blow onshore & blow all the rubbish in. It's also onshore over at Nus a Lembongan during the wet season. It's a lot more comfortable weather wise in the dry season. You would'nt swim in the surf in the wet season because of the pollution. Plus being an old surfie the dry season on the kuta side is offshore all day. But then again it's offshore on the Sanur side during the wet season & they get some good surf out on the reefs. I suppose some of us have to take our holidays when the boss says so. What ever time of the year that you go you will always have a great time. It sounds like you never got to Uluwatu which has some of the best surf & views in the world. Sitting up by the pool watching the surfers is not to be missed. Also a day trip from Ubud down to Lovina is a must. You did a lot on your first trip but you have to go back & see the rest. Every time you go back it gets better. & it's bloddy cheap.
