there are around 6 standards from memory.
america is either region 1 or 2 i think.
the major problem lies with the region coding of your dvd player. on the back of the player there should be a sticker with a globe on it and a number in the middle. this will tell you the region code for your player.
bali dvds will prob only work with players with a multi region setting.
if you search in google or yahoo for your player model or read your manual it should tell you whether it is or not.
in short you will most likely need a multi region player.
