well 22 days still isnt enough, reality bites!
arrived home yesterday morning 9:40 in melbourne, yes to a wonderful family, a surprise new car and some awesome friends but ...my catch cry was "why cant this all come to bali". Of course i know that if i had all this in bali, bali wouldnt mean what it does to me.
So me and my 2 friends (me 18 the others 19old and female) flew air paradise, great as always, transfers with bali travel services were dodgy, they asked me to hold up the sign for the other guests. we satyed at the dewi sri, 3 people in the one room, small and dark shower didnt drain so the bathroom flooded and all the doors didnt shut properly... but we didnt care!!! WE WERE IN BALI!!!!
So we get money changed and head to seminyak to the bintang super market.. and what do i do, i leave my newly cashed up wallet with the safety deposit box key in the blue bird taxi!! WOOPS!
my dear friend chased the cab down jalan legian but no luck! i fretted alot but lucky on the cab ride home i asked the driver to contact the other driver whos name i rememeber and along with the reception staff at the hotel my wallet, the key and every single rupiah was returned! so the moral of the story... ALWAYS use blue bird taxis, take note of the drivers number but more importantly dont leave your wallet in the taxi.
so we spent every night of our holiday without fail at the all time best restaurant and bar in bali KUBUKU
we made friends for life there which it has pained me to leave, the staff are fantastic and if you are ever in poppies 1 kuta pop in for a drink say hi for me!
we ate at every restaurant along poppies 1 and many along poppies 2, some of the better, kubuku of course, swell, treehouse, tj's, fat yogis, taman sari and poppies.
ate at a more up market restaurant in jalan legian in kuta called the grand bleau restaurant, WOW! absolutely fantastic setting, food and service.. well worth the money!
went out at night to paddy's, bounty and M bar go when we felt like dancing and having a good time.
shopping is just as good as it has always been, and learning indonesian before i left was a great help, i got alot more out of the trip and it was good to able to order in indonesian and get to know the balinese better, and the seemed to appreciate my efforts, even if my indonesian was tidak bagus!
well i suppose i have probably given you enough info on the over al of my trip but i will write a second part to this JBR to describe a few trips and activities i did.
please feel free to ask questions i love giving info on bali
sumpai jumpa nanti
