agree with Lynne D about the ATM's
We always use them and "touch wood" have never had a problem and also know a lot of people who do the same and swear this is the best way to access money in Bali. I know a lot of people who only take $100 cash and use the ATms as their main source of cash supply.
As for Visa card etc, we have found that more and more restaurants and shops accept credit cards.
