I also have eaten at Bali Kopi quite a few times before now.On the memorable night we got crook I had the mixed satays & I think my husband had seafood of some sort. Our son didn't eat with us there that night because he had eaten a bit earlier at our hotel.
Two of our friends who got crook from eating lunch there the same day.I think they said they had pizza but I'm not sure.It just seems too much of a coincidence that the 4 of us who ate there at different times on the same day all got ill.
There are so many nice places to eat in Lovina including Krakatau that I don't think anyone would have trouble finding a good spot.We really like the Thai place in the lane off the main street, the imported steak at Ponjok Indah up in the hills ( near the Damai hotel) just melts in your mouth - Fritz & Ceria take great pride in the food they serve. The 2 places on the beach front ( one is fairly newly opened) of the next street over that Rambutan Cottages is in,Sea breeze is also nice.Funky Monkey is a newish casual type of place to eat right at the bottom of the main street & is near the stalls & is run by an Aussie. The place a few doors up from Rambutan that advertises they make their own fresh bread does foccacias that are absolutely delicious. You must try their Chicken,Advocado,Lettuce & mayo ones.So fresh & tasty.Hope this has been of some help.
I am sure vistors to Lovina will be pleased to know that the new walkway on the beachfront is complete.Unforunately the beach road still gets badly flodded in parts & the walkway to a lesser extent. The worse area seems to be each side of the bridge. There are still no signs of lights going up along near the walkway or beach road but there is talk of it happeneing sometime in the future.
