Using a mobile phone anywhere in the world the access code is "+". Therefore to phone Aus you dial +61, the you drop the "0" from the area code, then the rest of the number.
For Sydney your would dial +61 2 9857xxxx
Remember, 0011 only works in Australia - most other countries its "00".
