Many don't like to be pressured into giving, would rather do it quietly/privately (by contacting yourself or other charities off the board)or choose themselves where they would most like to give or not give....and not have to tell all how much they give.
And no it's not about being stingy, it's about freedom of choice to do/give where and when, as you wish, and not as other's want you to /imply you should do.
Also as mentioned how organised is the donation side of it & have you considered the fact you are asking people to give to others who they don't know from a bar of soap?
Can understand if some are cautious if they dont know the people involved or specific details.
Don't mean to imply there is anything untoward involved but just because we post on BTF doesn't mean everyone knows everyone else well.
Understand it's a good cause etc but....
