There are a lot of "what if's" in life...

what if I cross the road and get hit by a car
what if I eat this and get sick
what if I let my child ride a skateboard and they fall off and hurt themselves

the list goes on.

If we live our lives by the "what if what happened to that person happens to me" then we would all be leading very clinical lives.

Think about the difference between what you were allowed to do as a child and what children of today are not allowed to do because the powers that be think that it is "too dangerous".

If you think that you don't want to risk being placed in the same situation as Chapelle, lock your bag, make sure there are no external pockets, don't take a surf/body board and then just enjoy your trip.
