I personally think his rates are excellent for the services provided.
He will pick you up from the airport, drop you at the hotel, take you sightseeing, shopping, eating, you name it. The guy is hardworking, cultured, generous, decent, honest. Very knowlegeable about KL and Malaysia. Has been in the business for the last 20 years.
We saved a lot on money( I mean really a lot) through his recommendations. With him there is absolutely no commission involved. He will take you to the best places for shopping...in terms of variety and price. Same goes for dining.
Though he doesn't talk too much (which is good), I had some very interesting conversations with him on a variety of topics.
In the 4/5 days we were with him in December, 2004, he must have spent not less than 100 Ringgit on us...he presented us with TEA from Ipoh, daily mineral water, boxes of dimsum, pork chops, etc.
