You will love the Puri, it is beautiful. I wouldnt request an upstairs room if I didnt have a littlly with me. The downstairs rooms may be a touch bigger and their terrace opens pretty much directly onto the pool - it doesnt have any balustrade so you just step right off.
I actually think that the Club rooms downstairs might have slightly swankier furniture - I think they might keep the upstairs rooms for upgrades and overflows!

PS - breakfast was great full buffet and all that. 2 guys playing gamelan on the lawn while you smell the ocean - really lovely. Club rooms also are supposed to get free afternoon tea (coffee/tea and cake of choice) at the beach restaurant - make sure reception give you the vouchers!
