If there is anything in particular you are after ie:perfume,makeup,camera goods etc then it is certainly worth ringing around as the prices are sometimes quite different.
The only exception for us is our booze which we always get in the departure lounge at the airport.Quite an extensive range and less drama carting it straight to the plane rather than home from a city store,then to the airport etc...Just a matter of convenience really.
