I last stayed there approx 1 year ago and there were families at that time. The pool area is very large and has a shallow area for little ones which is quite large, there is a small wall in the pool separating it from the deeper adult side. I did not see any other play areas for little ones, but it is right on the beach and very handy to Kuta shops etc. I saw the construction site in Nov 04 and it looks like a 2-storey restaurant/bar area which is across the road from the Hard Rock Hotel (I think that used to be a police compound). The best hotel I have seen for families with kids is the Dynasty where they have a kids club and separate pool area and I believe a water slide is being built there as well.
