I read on here recently that AP would cancel your return ticket if accommodation not used. Didn't say if you booked in and then left that they still did it. Maybe the hotels are getting jack of it. They are losing out even though they are paid for the accommodation but they are not getting money for any drinks or food that you may have while there and also other bookings can be knocked back because of your bookings.
