usually cheaper getting a package. I just verified this when i was comparing for my july trip.Package was still $300 cheaper than booking direct and buying airline ticket.
This of course depends on hotel price....plus if you take a minimum 4 night lead in package also and then look around at the smaller more traditional type places that charge in rupiah, then move over into one of those for the rest of your stay.This is usually cheaper..
