If you dont drink 10 Binnies a day/night then $50 will see you pretty right - in fact with a little effort you can live like a king on $50 a day in Bali.
I love my Bali backpacking experineces (mid to late 1980's) as much as i love going the whole luxury trip now - both great in their own ways.
You will have no worries !!!! but take the credit card just in case you get the taste for the Bintang as its the best cure for a sweaty brow in the Bali warmth.
