Denpasar is always very hard to get. From Perth only two small planes a week and a very popular destination. If you can get there OK consider coming back via Darwin or Singapore, with a stopover at either, just do a multi destination search. It will cost you more points though.
We have always been lucky getting up with ff. Have already booked April and July next year and went up three times this year with them. It really is pot luck, there are actually going to be no Qantas flights from January, only Aust. Air.
The new hours are crappy though and I'm cosidering going AP or Garuda in future as you get nearly two extra days for the same time away and with the hike in points req they are both looking more attractive.
We usually travel alone, with one of us going and then leaving first due to commitments here. We find it is easier to get seats than trying for 2 or more people.
Be very careful about ringing. From May you will get penalised points for the privelege!! Hope this helps
