In Bahasa Indonesia, the emphasis is on the second last syllable, a good example is Terima Kasih where it is T'reemah Kaah-sih.
However, because the Grammatic rules of Basa Bali differ, their pronunciation is different and you get Kah-see-eeh with the emphasis on the last syllable.Ubud becomes Oob-oooood. Thus, when us foreigners go to Malaysia or other parts of Indonesia, people say 'oh, you speak with a Balinese accent', if you have learnt your Bahasa Indonesia from Balinese people only.
