Hi there. Sorry just read your reply to my posting. As for the Bali Garden Hotel, it was great. i think its a 3 star property, but it has all that was required. we were on the third floor with a balcony room (road side). when we sat outside on our balcony we could hear the live music played by a club across the road which we loved, but after you closed the sliding door, it was fine, could not hear a thing. The rooms come with air conditioning (ours was set to a permenant 16 degrees), hotel room safe, we had 2 single beds, lounge and the balcony. Bathroom was fine, no smell like alot of people had stated on here, i guess it depends what room you get. The staff of the hotel are all so lovely, all they do is smile, they are great. They have an internet things downstairs, a bit expensive, but none the less, convenient. u can get pool towels for a deposit of 50 000 rph which you get back upon return. pool was great, nice little pool bar. pool is close to the beach, they have a nice little beauty salon out by the pool, lots of lounge chairs, although some selfish people get a chair early in the morning in the shade, plop their towel on the lounge, then head off for the day, rather annoying. drinks and food cheap from both the pool bar and the restaurant. they have a bar which has 2 pool tables. breaakfast is great, they have a full buffet selection of fruit, toast (toasters are slow), crossoints, roll things and juices. outside there is a hot selection of friend rice, bacon, other hot stuff and then they will have a chef who will make omelettes, pancakes and banana pancakes (they are a must) upon request. btreakfast is from 7 - 11 (i think), try and get there before 9 so the good chef is on if you plan to have hot food. as for the age range of people, it was extremely varied, there were familes, singles, couples, older people. it was great, the atmosphere was just lovely, everyone talks to everyone. as for comparing the bali garden to elsewhere, im not sure, that was my first trip to Bali. I spoke to a lady in my hotel who was used to staying at the dynasty hotel (4 or 5 star i think) and she said it as a bit of a step down for her but liked it. It was a great, clan, comfortale place that i would highly recommend. In regards to location wise, perfect. if you walk out the front of the hotel and turn left, its about a 5 - 10 minute walk to Kuta square, a further 5 minutes will get you down to poppies lane 1 and 2. by the end of the trip we were geting lazy and catching taxis, funny how heavy shopping can get. hope this helps, any further questions, please feel free, i will do my best to help. if not, have a fantastic time!
