Just spend ages copying and pasting info then lost the lot!!
Anyway, each sector you fly is a zone. Perth to Denpasar is a zone, Denpasar to Perth is a zone. In the past the air miles have been added up to a total and that total has decided what zone/how many points.
Now, if you go Perth/Sing; Sing/Denpasar; Denpasar/Perth you will have three separate points charges added up for each zone.
ALSO if you are helped by an operator you will incur a charge of 2,500 points per person on the booking!!
Cos you are technically never actually stopping over anywhere you are not charged stopover points.
If you fly to, say London and then drive to Paris, you will be charged Perth-London and Paris-Perth. Under the current system you would be charged a Perth-London return. If I wanted to fly to Brisbane and buy a car and drive it home I now will only get charged a one way fee whereas currently I would get charged a return fee.
The site is very ambiguous to the extent that my operator had to get two different supervisors to verify, so expect lots of b...s-ups.
What I would love is if some one knows a site that gives air miles between destinations, so we can work out what zones these various destinations fall into. We utilise our ff points a lot and although Qantas can tell you if you ring and go on hold for hours, they do not have anything on their site.
Thanks in advance
