Both looked very nice when I was there in August. Villa Ombok is right at the far end of the main strip (the opposite end to the beach where most people go snorkelling, but not that far - five minute's walk maybe). Villa Amarik is more isolated, on the north coast, not as close to the main snorkelling area. Nowhere is really that far away though on the Gilis, and you can always pick up a cimodo if you would prefer a quieter setting.
