The only insect spray I've used for over 30 years is called Swipe-a-Fly and it's made by a company called Swipe. It's not sold as a personal repellant, but I use it for that as well. I take it everywhere I go, including Bali. It's sold in concentrated form and watered down to be used in a pump spray bottle. I have found it to be less unpleasant than the usual sprays.

Ingredients:
Pyrethrins.
Piperonyl Butoxide.
N-Octyl Bycycloheptene Dicarboximide.

Apart from pyrethrins which come from a kind of African daisy, these ingredients mean nothing to me.

[From a DEET website, I see that DEET is N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide.]

I get mine from a lady in Kwinana. Swipe [NSW] can be contacted on a local call within Australia, maybe a similar system in America.
