The mosquito that carries Dengue Fever bites only during DAYLIGHT HOURS (unlike the Malarial mosquito which bites from dusk to dawn). As with malaria risk you are MORE AT RISK during the wet season and into the springtime (March, April) when puddles of water accumulate. You will get the disease about 7 days after a bite. But I wouldn't worry about it. Just wear repellent (high concentration of DEET) and be aware of mosquito activity. No major warnings at the moment, but there was a bad outbreak at the end of last year and into the spring of this year.
