thats the only way to get away from them. lol

Put your head down don't get eye contact and keep riding (play ignorant).

We have been getting bikes for 7 years now and with or without an international licence there is always something they'll pick you up for.

Once when we had our licences with us we called their bluff and said "OK take us to Court" and argued for half an hour with them and we got away. Was it worth not paying 50,000rp - I don't know. On principal - yes. Time/frustration wise - no!

So now we get Hotels away from the Kuta area - which is the worst place for bribing - although definitely not the only place.

And, we do the dodge thing. It works half of the time.

Oh, and the Insurance - up to you if you want it but if you crash the bike a new one if $1500. The excess on the insurance is close to it at many places. So don't pay for the insurance if the excess is that high.

Have a great time. Riding is the BEST!!!
