Son & I went out at 6am one morning last October in a boat with a friend of one of our friends who live In Lovina. We saw absolute heaps of dolphins & they came up very close to the boat.I would highly recommend going out even if it does mean waking at a crazy hour in the morning.

BTW - if you haven't already booked accomodation I would highly recommend Rambutan cottages. Our family just loves it there.Rambutan is right in the middle of town ( Kalibukbuk) but 1 street back from the main street so you don't hear any noise from the bars. The grounds & garden are lovely,2 pools ,nice restaurant/bar & very friendly staff.very relaxed & comfortable. They also have various grades of rooms from budget up to 2br villas.Contact Richard( the Aussie owner) if you want prices & mention BTF.The web page is easy enough to find if you do a search

If you have time don't forget to also go to the Hot springs,The Buddhist temple, the coffee plantation & the drive through the mountains.
