if I can. I know my first post was facetious, but I was thinking along the lines that we're all suckers for being ripped off in Bali if we're not careful. I can't recommend anyone in Bali, but I have no doubt that some people seem to land on info in ways we don't always understand.

Believing things like this is a bit like religion, no-one can prove anything, particularly to those who have closed minds. If you believe, it's an act of faith. If you don't believe, it's still an act of faith.

Some members of my family are psychic. Shortly after world war 2, my sister's fiance was still in the British army. Parts of Europe and the Middle East were still in turmoil and Ken knew he was getting an overseas posting to one of the many trouble spots. My sister did the ouija board and found out not just the country but the actual town he was later sent to.

Last time I went back to England was 1983. I went on the spur of the moment and didn't get around to phoning my mother before I left Perth. I planned on phoning her from London, but there just happened to be a plane about to leave London for Leeds in Yorkshire, so I ran and got on it. I phoned from Leeds airport and got my stepfather, who told me my mother was out, but would be in shortly. I said she would be surprised. Bernard said no she wouldn't because the fortune teller had told her I was coming.

One day, I went to Lewis's dept store in Leeds [a bit like Myer or David Jones]. They were having some kind of promotion and the front man was Leon Petulengro, a member of the famous English Gypsy family, renowned as fortune tellers. We had never met or had anything to do with one another. As I approached the counter, he looked up and told me that I was born in August and I was older than I looked. Where did he get that from? Who knows?

To get back to Bali, I don't go to fortune tellers, but if I did, it would only be on reliable personal recommendation.
