the motor bikes are genrally 100/125cc they can be got for as low as AU$6.00 $1.00 per day extra will cover Insurance. the police are not on every corner waiting to book you. occasionally they do stop you to do an international licence check,, make sure that you have it with you at ALL times if not, yep a 50,000rp fine ( bribe ) as it goes in their pocket, you never get a receipt !!! but thats the way of life over there. Also make sure that you wear your helmet, even though 95% of balineese do not, you will get fined/bribed for that too. you can hire larger bikes, and 4 wheel drives, all very cheap, but do not expect traffic rules/laws as in western countries... anything goes they come out of side streets straight in front of you, and slowly also, so be prepared, drive with a safety margin and you should have a great holiday as my girlfriend and self always do. by the way, watch the one way systems over there, you will get fined/bribed going to wrong way, even though the balineese all do it, if you get seen you WILL get stopped, take it from one who lernt that lesson last year.
