Hi Slab,
so there are still people drifting in the cyberspace without any protection.
The problems with spyware and adware are increasing rapidly since they found out to use this for Spam-serving ( will mean your private PC is sending Spam without you know this or get aware of this ).
Scan your system with your Antivirus - it will tell you everything OK - Norton & Co will not recognise this !!!
First advice from me, do not use the Internet Explorer !!!
Much better, faster and saver browsers are Mozilla firefox or Opera, my favorite is firefox - free DL www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.

Ad-aware free DL http://www.lavasoft.com/
To protect your PC against infection of spyware use.
Spywareblaster free DL http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/
Warning lot of these adware programms are changing the registry of Win.
So it may happen, whenever you restart your PC, they are coming back :-)
