Id rather be waiting for my bags at the baggage lane rather than (as one of the other forumites explained) Kicking your bag along 3 feet at a time, I can see my self sipping a bintang waiting for my bag to come through but id say it will depend on what day you go, like me near christmas so i will get through quicker, i saw a foto of the lines around that time and i dont want to be waiting in a line for that long but if you go this time of year and the off season it probably wouldnt be worth it as long as the plane isnt full and other flights comming in at the same time, But as you say if there is a family it probably worth waiting in line
