gone thru this exercise with 3 different Indonesian Nationals, one was here for a month only one trip, another was here for a month and then 3 months followed by another 3 months, and the third was here for a month, then another month, and on Saturday will arrive for a 3 month visit. In every case, we sent copies of bank balances, plus a letter of 'sponsorship' stating that we would cover all expenses, the visitor would not be required nor allowed to work in Aust, and we would cover all costs of taxes, medical and return trip.
This last time, we also had to include a stat dec repeating this, and the application had to be submitted to a registered agent in Bali.. it went to Jakarta, took 2 weeks, and the same agent held the airline tickets on a nominal deposit pending the outcome of the application. Cost was 460,000 I think. Visitor also has to pay 1,000,000 fiscal tax plus departure tax 100,000 and has to have money for transport to airport plus enough to buy drinks & a snack..in the departure lounge area 500ml water was 5,000 when we flew out of Bali on 26th Oct, and I think a sandwich was about 9,000. Hope this helps.
