This happened whilst my friends and I were in Bali and we heard about it on the street from locals.

There is something suss here... I believe her (in leui of other evidence).

My feeling at this stage is that it is a "cheap" attempt at a different type of terrorism. It is an attempt to keep Australians out of Indonesia through scare tactics - and it will scare some... No doubt!!!! That is the only plausable (given the current evidence released) explanation. The amount is way too much for personal use for her and family and friends - but it is enough to ensure the death penalty is sort by prosecutors.

Hard to tamper with unlocked bags? Get serious...
Believe the custom officers in Bali when they say it is impossible? Get serious...

Is it impossible to get onto the tarmac at Denpasar airport? Haha - you've got to be kidding.

I don't care for the alternative arguement about how it got there... Remember: "I've been to Bali too mate" - if you have - you have seen it all.

Maybe her friend or brother? Doubt it!

4kgs of Pot in Australia... Perhaps what? $80,000 - in Bali - what? $1000? So why bother? What gain?

Her sister and brother in law live in Indonesia and would be able to get the stuff for a fraction of the cost. Now if the stuff was going out - I'd be inclined to believe the story!!!! Makes alot more sense.

If she bought that amount in - there would be some evidence in Aus... Is there evidence that she bought the stuff? Contact with people who grow the stuff? I am sure there would be people on the case in Aus - if she had a means to get the stuff it will/would have been exposed.

But where did she get it from?

Plenty has been said about her saving for the trip.. Having no money at all - and it taking ages to get the money together. It would be obvious if she had none - then a bunch appeared out of nowhere.

There is alot more to this story - for those that have been to Bali - or are young and have been to Bali and been confronted with drugs over there... It doesn't make sense for someone who knows the place (which she would have to) to bring drugs in.

Next question... Why is the leaf not being tested? There are tests that can be done to establish where it was grown - or I believe there are... I guess that will be a major part of their defence.

If it can be established that it was not grown in Australia - you'd think she would be in the clear.

The weighing and security tape defences would be rubbish - and they would have known that... Everyone knows that the bags are weighed together. What would the security tape show? That she opened the bag and had a durrie before boarding the plane.

They need to analyse the stuff - which I am sure they'd be trying to do...

I don't think she is guilty as it doesn't make sense.

But - I'II say someone in her group is, if it is proven to be from Aust. Otherwise there is no way she is.

Feel sorry for her anyway! Just remember this sort of thing the next time somone over there says: 'u want marijawanaaaaaa?' whilst you won't be in that sort of trouble - it could still be a setup which will cost you $$$$$ or a night in Jail.

I'II support my fellow Aussies until evidence is produced which makes sense!!!!

Authorities - give her the support and help she deserves. Too many Aussies have died in Bali already! Sharpelle - I'm with ya mate.
