I thought about taking an "extra" bottle with us when we arrive on NYE but...reading the forum and JBR's I don't think it would be worth paying customs an extra $20 or so Aud and letting them have a NYE drink or 50 bintangs on me!! :) We are staying for a longer time that 2ltrs will last!!!
So, my question is, does anyone know where we can purchase the local Whiskey. Last time we stayed in Tuban and found a lovely little shop keeper who had a little "stash" under the counter and looked after us, and we looked after him!!! We are staying in legian / Seminyak area this time and would greatly appreciate if anyone knows of any lovely little shopkeepers of the same calibre as the one we have had the pleasure in meeting on our first trip in April this year. Or does the supermarkets sell local whiskey, and if so, how much? Last time we did not even look at the supermarket for local stuff as we did not know what to look for. We did see Johnny Walker at about $48.00 per bottle.....(before we found the "shop keeper")! Any advice / knowledge would be greatly appreciated, and trust me, although me and my hubby are partial to scotch and dry, we WILL throw in a few bintangs around the pool bar for all you wonderful forumites out there!!!
