We stayed at both HMGH and Tegal Sari last August.
Both are really lovely but we almost felt claustrophobic at HMGH. There is a lot of development on the site.
The Laxmi A room was around au$70 and no air cond.
Tegal Sari is set in amongst the rice paddies. We stayed in a Super deluxe room which cost about au$60 per night with air con.
Another place to try is Vila Rasa Sayang, which is on Monkey Forest Rd. It cost us au$50 per room per night. It had air cond.
