while I don't know the young lady personaly, and I did'nt see the 60 min show (afer all they are selling rateings) I do know a close relation and we have spoken about this. My friend has totally asured me that she would never have done anything like taking 4kg's of pot to Bali, she is very well aware of the rules and penalties. Yes her sister is married to a Balinese man. They are all very well aware of never ever even thinking about bringing anything into the country thats not meant to be there. Yes she has travelled alot to Bali, because her sister is there, and she is a keen surfer. Last heard the family Lawyer is still waiting for the weigh bill of the luggage. She has been tested for drugs and came back clear and no other residue on her was found. I know I would notice if my bag/surf board bag weighed 4kgs heavier, I have trouble with the shopping. I would say it gets into the country via else where and someone at the airport in Bali is trying to get it out and thought they were going to get caught, and decided to ditch it in the closest unlocked bag. How many times has someone travelled and not locked their bag, I know I have, but I wont be in the future. Sad that if she is guilty that it didn't happen here, at least we are innocent until proven guilty. Fellow travellers PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOCK YOUR BAG. I am still going to Bali for the 1st time in march. My thoughts are with her and her family. Makes you think twice about donating to Amisty International.
Take care fellow travellers.
