& what sort of nightlife, restaurants, etc. you like, BUT I'm sure you'll love Seminyak. The street where the Pelangi is located is renowned for its 'nightlife' in Seminyak and the next street down parallel to it (heading towards Kuta) is Jalan 66 ('sarong street') - where there is the huge nightclub at the end on the beach. Heading the other way and the next street running parallel heading towards the Oberoi Hotel is called 'eat street' - where you'll get a great selection from cheap & cheerful restaurants like Mykonos and Sate Bali to some of the best that Bali has to offer like Ku De Ta & La Lucciola. There are so many restaurants located in the vicinity that I'm sure you'll find enough to choose from - why don't you have a look at the www.balieats.com website to get a better idea (one of my favourites has always been Mades Warung & there's a Mades Warung II located in Seminyak)! I'm a Bali & Kuta fan from way back and like the others said, Kuta is not that far away at all - these days it's hard to decipher where Kuta ends and Legian begins and then where Legian ends and Seminyak begins. Have a great trip :)
