I can't believe that we have been back for over a week already. Just haven't had a chance to sit down and write this jbr, and I suppose since I have spent the best part of the last 12 days just trying to make it to the toilet in time, may be a good enough excuse.
Anyway, our holiday started off very early in the morning,as the night before we left, the kids were so excited they couldn't sleep. That meant Mum and Dad didnt either. After finally falling asleep about 11pm we were rudely awoken by my sons alarm clock that accidently went off at 3am. Oh well it was probably the only time that I would accept getting up so early. After all it is exciting to be going to Bali. We were picked up by a friend to go to the airport and arrived at Perth Airport at 5.30am. After going through and sitting in the departure lounge, I decided I would make my usual excited phone calls to people saying I am at the airport. My husband, Lee undid the duty free and tinkered around with his new digital camera. He was not very happy as the flash was not working. Alesson for us to be learnt now, is to always pay the duty on items and get it back at the airport.
O.k. on to the exciting parts, the flight with Garuda was fine as always. The kids were given their meals first and they both got toys. We arrived in Bali on time,11.20am and we were picked up by the hotel transport. The usual questions were asked by the driver, how many times have you come to Bali? Lee said kids 3 times, him 4 times and my wife 9 times. It always made me laugh when they would say to me OH Welcome Home. Check in was smooth and we were in our room by about 12.45. I was impressed with the hotel grounds. Our kids suite was on the small side, but I had read that on the forum. Really didnt matter as we dont spend a lot of time in our room. The kids were more than happy though. With their own t.v. playstation and video player. And bunk beds. We were also lucky, because there are only about 13 kids suites. And only 3 of them have balconies. We got one. Room 1149. Our friends had a room that just had a backyard with pebbles and no chairs. Our verendah overlooked fish ponds. Which all the kids in the kids club, would feed at 10am.
My favourite part of the hotel was definitely, the pool area. The pool bar was fantastic. Happy hour was 5pm - 6pm. We had many a time just sitting there admiring the sunset. Now I know what you mean Jen. Also met a few other forumites here. Met up with keller and his lovely family. And Filo and his wife. It was just such a relaxed atmosphere here. Didnt meet Nati, but after reading her Jbr it seems her child was sick.
Anyway I am going to have to finish this Jbr off later as my family need to use the phone. Sorry.
