You may have a good point about the "form of Hinduism" practised by the Balinese. It probably differs a great deal from that of the Hindus in India.
It is now 8.30 am in Bombay and we have been bombed and strafed all night ;-) Boy !!! These fireworks( more like mini-bombs) can be a real pain !!! ;-)
As you said, probably the Muslims, too, practise a different version of Islam than that on the subcontinent.
This is definitely going to be of great interest to me when I get to Bali in under 10 sleeps !!! ;-)
