I'd had a few drinkies before I posted. It was my last non-working day before I leave.
And yes, the traffic is hard to get used to. It requires a lot of faith and a slightly kamikaze attitude to cross the road. But it's much the same in other Indonesian cities. So far, everyone has just gone around me, but it's still hard to avoid the feeling that this could be the last road you ever cross. Kinda like being in the eye of a hurricane.
Also, there are signs pointing to the "exit" at Borobudur which lead to a labyrinth of stalls. I didn't know about that the first time I went, coz I just went back the way I came. There's a much easier exit (just a turnstile) near the entrance. Also, if you leave around 4.15, a lot of the traders will be busy praying (probably for your business), and you can sneak past a lot of them.
